Embroidered Hearts

This quilt was made from embroidered blocks that had been sitting in a drawer for at least 35 years.  I cross hatched those blocks with white thread to secure all of the stitching and to make the quilting almost invisible. Now these blocks will be enjoyed for many years to come.
Beautiful Embroidery

Wide sashing needed a little color and a lot of interest.

Close up of vertical sashing quilting for between each block

Large border is cross hatched with four petal flowers in the stitching.

Double Wedding Ring

Close up of Hawaiian Double Wedding Ring

Because this is Hawaiian Fabric we wanted to use hearts and flowers that echo the hearts.

On the colored rings itself I did point to point arcs to differentiate the different fabrics.  It makes a nice pattern on the back.

Sateen and minky wholecloth quilt

Year of birth

Bear in the center

Lyla's baby blanket from 3 years ago.  Looks great after frequent washing.

My first time at freehand.  Thought that the circles would look like frog skin.
