More QOV's

I recently found out that this quilt group that has been sending me these string quilts are a group of men.  That is so cool that they would be willing to explore this female dominated art for supporting the Armed Forces.

There is two groups that are making quilts for the Armed Services, Quilt of Valor and the lesser know American Hero Quilts bases out of Washington.  I am privileged to work with both of them.

Hard to see but this is that border corner of sash and stars

This simple pattern of strings on a foundation fabric make quite the dramatic impact.

Mario and Luigi for my twin Grandsons

My son asked me to make a Mario quilt for his son.  His son preferred Batman.  So I made Mario and Luigi for the new twin grandsons.  This was so much work but worth every minute.

Luigi and Goomba.  The Cloud is echoed inside and the sky is wind blowing away from the cloud.

The skin is a bubble pattern and the shirt is waved.

Goomba has curly fur and pebbled feet.  If you look closely you can see the grass and the eyes.

Mario is jumping up and hitting the brown box and a flower is coming out.

The hat and shirt are a wave pattern and the sky is mini clouds

If you look closely you can see the zig-zag in the pants and basket weave in the shoes.  Also note the grass  pattern.
